What is Gone? +
Gone is a private venting tool. Type what's on your mind, attach a photo if you want, pick a destruction style, and watch it disappear. No saves. No cloud. Just gone.
Is my content stored somewhere? +
No. Everything lives strictly on your device. We have no backend, no database, and no way to read what you type or upload. Once you destroy it, it's gone for good.
What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone? +
All your data — entries, Ashes, streaks, and unlocks — is stored locally. It will not transfer to a new device and cannot be recovered if the app is deleted. We strongly recommend treating it as ephemeral.
What are Ashes? +
Ashes are the app's virtual currency. You earn them by using the app consistently and maintaining streaks. Spend them on destruction animations, perks, and other unlockables. Ashes have no real-world value and cannot be bought, sold, or transferred.
Can I restore my purchases on a new device? +
Non-consumable purchases (like a premium unlock) may be restorable through the App Store or Play Store's "Restore Purchases" feature if you're signed into the same account. Consumables like Ashes cannot be restored.
Why does the app need photo access? +
We only request access so you can import photos into the app to destroy them. We do not read your gallery otherwise, and destroying a photo inside the app will permanently delete it from your device.
The app feels intense. Is that normal? +
Yes. Gone uses heavy animations, haptics, flashing effects, and sound. If you are sensitive to motion, light, or vibration, we recommend reviewing the Photosensitivity & Seizure Warning in the Terms and adjusting your system accessibility settings.
What are Perks? +
Perks are modifiers you can equip before a destruction to customize the experience — things like slowing the animation, adding particle effects, changing camera behavior, or triggering unique visual atmospheres. Some perks unlock based on your streak milestones.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature? +
We welcome feedback. Email us at goneapp.official@gmail.com and we'll do our best to respond. By sending feedback, you agree we may use it to improve the app without obligation or compensation.
I found a bug. Will I lose my data? +
Because all data is local, bugs could theoretically affect stored data. We recommend not relying on the app to preserve anything you aren't willing to lose. Our goal is stability, but you should treat everything inside Gone as temporary.
Why are there ads? +
The free version includes ads to support development. You can remove them via a one-time premium purchase if available in your region.
